Axiom welcomes new member Lorna Drummond QCBack to News Listing
Axiom Advocates is delighted to welcome Lorna Drummond QC as a new member, adding to the established group of Senior Counsel within Axiom who practice primarily in public law.
Lorna Drummond was called to the Bar in 1998 and appointed QC in 2011. Her practice is principally in administrative and constitutional law, immigration, human rights, planning and commercial law. From 2002 to 2007 she was appointed Standing Junior to the Home Department and instructed in immigration and human rights cases. From 2009-2011 she was appointed Standing Junior Counsel to the Scottish Ministers acting in cases concerning prisoners rights and planning disputes. She has represented individuals, developers and planning authorities in statutory appeals, judicial reviews and at inquiry, including professionals with direct right of access. She has acted on behalf on petitioners and respondents and as intervener in immigration judicial reviews and advised public authorities and individuals on a wide range of subject matter including the public sector equality duty, freedom of information/data protection and European law. Lorna has also appeared several times before the Supreme Court and drafted submissions on behalf of the United Kingdom government for the European Court of Human Rights.
Since 2011 Lorna has been an associate member of Landmark Chambers, London. She was ranked Band 1 as junior counsel in administrative law by the Legal 500 and ranked by Chambers as Leader at the Scottish Bar in Public and Administrative Law as new silk in 2013.
